Lia Conti, LMSW
Lia is very excited to be a part of The Healing Connection team as the bariatric intake evaluation specialist/bariatric primary therapist and is dedicated to working collaboratively and compassionately with patients. She completed her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology at the State University of New York at Geneseo. Following her B.A. in Psychology, Lia went on to pursue a Master’s of Social Work degree with a concentration in Mental Health. Lia has experience in grief, anxiety, depression, substance abuse, relationship difficulties, and body image issues. She also has a background facilitating anxiety, grief, and substance abuse therapy groups. Throughout her graduate studies, Lia received training as a substance abuse counselor at Huther Doyle specializing in opioid addiction. She completed her second clinical field placement at the Rochester Institute of Technology’s Counseling and Psychological Services (CaPS). While at CaPS, Lia provided individual psychotherapy and group therapy to students. She has also spent time volunteering as a hospice caregiver at the Aurora house, and as a youth mentor through Compeer Rochester. Lia has developed an integrative therapeutic approach that incorporates a strengths-based perspective; mindfulness-based cognitive behavioral therapy; and interpersonal relational techniques.
