In order to ensure that patients have access to comprehensive treatment at each level of care and that patient progress is carefully coordinated, New York State legislated the establishment of three Comprehensive Care Centers for Eating Disorders (CCCEDs).
CCCEDs are regional networks of inpatient and outpatient facilities that offer patients coordinated and continuous clinical care across providers. These centers also act as advocates in their communities, providing school-based prevention programming, educating professionals and the general public and conducting research.
The Healing Connection is licensed by the NYS Office of Mental Health and is an affiliate of the Western New York Comprehensive Care Center for Eating Disorders (WNYCCCED), based at the University of Rochester Medical Center.
Mary Tantillo, Founder, and past President, CEO and Clinical Director at The Healing Connection, serves as Director of the WNYCCCED. In partnership with the Child and Adolescent Eating Disorders Program at Golisano Children's Hospital, our network provides the region with a continuum of coordinated care. Patients can move seamlessly from eating disorder inpatient treatment at Golisano Children's Hospital to the partial hospitalization program at The Healing Connection and vice versa, depending on changes in symptom severity.
